Welcome to Brimmer & Heeltap: a bistro-pub that captures the vibrancy of Northwest cuisine and the community that embraces it.
In early 2012 we endeavored to set our own table. We opted for a quarter of the city where we feel intrinsically connected. Ballard is a lauded destination for its entrepreneurial temperament and flourishing establishments. The idea was to fashion a destination just on the other side of your doorstep: a gathering space for friends, with all the comforts of home and a uniquely crafted menu of small bites, family style plates and sophisticated libations.
Thanks to the dedication (and appetites!) of friends and family we’ve been able to create an eatery we’re proud to hang our hat in. We invite you to pull up a seat and share in Chef Mike’s locally inspired innovations and Bartender Jeff’s masterful concoctions.
Brimmer & Heeltap is spearheaded by Jen Doak, a Seattle local, who has over two decades of experience in the wine and hospitality industries. She is an avid menu collector, ordained minister, and a collector of new experiences locally and globally. Jen thrives on bringing people together and truly cares about being surrounded by good people and quality interactions.
The kitchen is led by Mike Whisenhunt. Brimmer & Heeltap will delight you with the inventive creations of Chef Mike, who fuses an international flair to the abundant seasonal diversity and coastal flavors of the Pacific Northwest. This is Chef Mike’s entré into the chef role as co-founder of Brimmer & Heeltap, following his most recent tenure at Seattle’s award winning Revel and Joule restaurants.
